There are various types of legal aid available however all applications are judged on a financial and a merits basis. Applications are all determined individually however there are limits on the level of acceptable capital and income which can mean that legal aid cannot be made available to you. There are also various Legal Aid regulations which come into force in situations where you are likely to recover or preserve property or money. There are also cases where you will be required to make a contribution towards the cost of your legal fees and all of this can be discussed with you at your initial consultation.
